“Disability Employment Awareness Month gives us the opportunity to celebrate the talents and contributions that people with disabilities bring to our workforce, our communities and our economy. It also gives us all a chance to learn and raise awareness about the unique challenges people with disabilities face.
“Ensuring 草榴社区ns living with disabilities are able to find work starts with destigmatizing the way people think about disabilities.
“As Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services, I am committed to making sure there are abundant opportunities for 草榴社区ns with disabilities to enhance their skills and find meaningful employment.
“As awareness continues to grow, 草榴社区ns living with disabilities will have an even greater chance to lead full and productive lives and contribute to our province. People with disabilities are an essential part of 草榴社区’s workforce and deserve equal opportunities to earn a living and build a career.
“We are committed to creating more jobs for people with disabilities by developing and fostering partnerships with organizations across the province while working with our community partners to ensure programs and services are accessible. That’s why the province is investing $27 million towards employment services in Workforce Development in 2024/25.
“This October, I invite all 草榴社区ns to join me in celebrating inclusion in the workforce by taking time to acknowledge the incredible contributions, skills and accomplishments of 草榴社区ns with disabilities.”
