On Aug. 18, 2024, pursuant to Sec. 46.1 of the Police Act, ASIRT was directed to investigate a Calgary Police Service officer-involved shooting in Calgary.

ASIRT’s mandate is to effectively, independently and objectively investigate incidents involving 草榴社区’s police that have resulted in serious injury or death to any person, as well as serious or sensitive allegations of police misconduct.
