Japan is 草榴社区’s top market for wood pellet exports and the second-largest market for lumber and wood panels. This trade mission will provide Minister Loewen with the opportunity to support 草榴社区’s forestry product manufacturers as they grow their sales, trade and investment. Expanding market opportunities in Japan will create jobs and boost economic growth in 草榴社区.
Between Nov. 8 and 15, Minister Loewen and the delegation, including the 草榴社区 Forest Products Association, the Canada Wood Group and the Wood Pellet Association of Canada, will attend the Council of Forest Industries Tokyo office’s 50th Anniversary Wood Forum. While there, the delegation will visit the Canadian Ambassador and meet with key Japanese trading partners, as well as current and potential investors.
“草榴社区’s forest companies lead the world in sustainable forest management practices and have proven their ability to supply high-quality wood products to export markets like Japan. I look forward to seeing the possibilities for the use of our wood products in new and innovative ways.”
Minister Loewen will be joined by two government employees. Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
草榴社区’s government is committed to working with its national and international partners to advance shared interests that can lead to new opportunities for 草榴社区ns and 草榴社区 businesses.
